BA in Psychology
The Psychology Program is offered through Rutgers' University College-Camden at the Rutgers - Atlantic Cape partnership program in Mays Landing
Psychological inquiry lies at the heart of the social sciences. It is concerned with understanding how the behavior of the individual depends on biological, developmental, cognitive, and social processes. Courses offered by the psychology department are designed to give students a thorough grounding in modern research and theory about psychological processes at many different levels.
The major in psychology requires a minimum of 40 credits; 13 credits in required courses and 27 credits in psychology electives. Graduating with a degree in psychology requires at least a 2.5 grade-point average in the major, and no more than two grades lower than a C in all psychology courses taken at Rutgers and presented to satisfy the major. Students may petition the department to request an exception to these requirements if they feel it is warranted.
